Sorry, no anonymous email addresses (hotmail, yahoo, gmail, etc). Please send an message from your company email. Thanks for your interest!

This application can run as a stand alone program running on your computer, or as a client/server application, where it would connect to your corporate databases. This demo uses manufacturing data stored in a Postgres database.

Steps to Install on XP, Vista or Windows 7

1) Install sample Postgres database. The Postgres database (also known as EnterpriseDB) is a free, open source SQL database. The sample reports will query this database for data.
* Download Postgres at: www.postgresql.org
* Please follow the steps in the Postgres Install dialogs.
* When prompted for the "postgres" superuser password, enter "postgres".

2) Import MFG BI data and Create a new Login User Role. Upon installation of the Postgres database, the Postgres Admin Tool is also installed (psAdminIII).
Using the Restore function included with the admin tool, you can import the MFG BI schema and data. You can also create a Login Role.

After installing the Postgres database, right click on the Databases node and choose "New Database", and name this database "mfg_bi".
* Next import the MFG BI schema and data. Right click on the "eas_data" node and select "Restore". Then select the "mfg-bi-2.1_eas_data_(restore).backup" file that is included in the download and click OK.
* The database now includes a complete database schema that has many database tables. These tables also include data for the sample reports.

* Name this Login Role "reports" and the password should be "reports" also.
* Next click the Role Priviledges tab and select "Superuser" for testing.

3) Install the BI application. This is a small rich client desktop application.
Please follow the steps in the MFG BI Install dialogs.

* The first step is to unzip the mfg_bi_2.1.zip download. Next drag the "MFG BI" folder from the archive, into your "C:\Program Files" folder. This folder includes the example database and starter reports. When custom reports are created for your company, the reports can be located in any folder. Including a shared drive on your corporate network.
* Next, double click on the "MFG_BI_2.1v1_Installer" file included with the download and follow the prompts. Install the app into the "C:\Program Files\MFG BI" folder.

Note: While installing the MFG BI application you may be prompted to install the Java JDK (Java Development Kit). But the JRE (Java Runtime Environment) is a smaller download and will also allow the BI application to run on your computer.
If needed, you can download the JRE at: www.java.com/en/download

* If needed, you can uninstall using Add/Remove Programs, in your Control Panel.
